NSW: Police seeking man over sexual assault

SYDNEY, Aug 4 AAP - Police say they are still seeking a second man allegedly involvedin the sexual assault of two teenage girls in Sydney's inner west earlier this year.

Senior Constable Shelley Johns from Ashfield police, said the incident occurred inthe early hours of Saturday, March 30.

"About 3am, two teenage girls aged 16 and 17 began talking with a group of eight menat a service station on Parramatta Road, Lewisham," Snr Cnst Johns said.

"The two teenagers were later sexually assaulted at a number of locations in the Lewisham area."

Police arrested a 22-year-old man at his Guildford home, in western Sydney, on July24 over the assaults.

He was taken to Parramatta police station and charged with two counts of sexual assaultand one of indecent assault and is due to face Downing Centre Local Court on August 29.

Snr Cnst Johns said the second man they are seeking is one of eight men police believemay be able to help with their inquiries into the assault.

"We have a CCTV (closed circuit TV) image of another man at a Parramatta Road servicestation who we believe may be able to assist us," she said.

He was described as being of Middle Eastern or Mediterranean appearance, aged between17 and 19, skinny in build, and with brown eyes.

His hair was long on top and tied in a ponytail reaching past his collar, with an undercut.

The man was wearing blue jeans, a jumper that was red on top, dark blue on the bottomand with a zippered front, Sen Cnst Johns said.

"The man speaks with a strong Australian accent and may drive a white Nissan Exa," she said.
